THC or No THC

In 2018, The Farm Bill legalized hemp-derived CBD and analysts predict the industry will reach $20 billion in the United States by 2025.

Are you considering adding CBD into your daily supplement routine, but skeptical because you associate it with being “high”?

If this statement applies to you, then you are not alone. Many people have this misconception about CBD. They understand the benefits, however, struggle with the stigma surrounding the use of the product.

My journey

When I began my journey of living the best and healthiest life possible, it started with incorporating daily physical activity. Some form of exercise, whether it was walking, body weight HIIT workouts, or playing pickleball; just a few ways I accomplished this first step.

As time passed, I limited my intake of unhealthy foods or beverages, such as processed foods and carbonated drinks. Drinking more water, consuming a healthier diet, as well as monitoring carbohydrates and sugar became the norm.

After thorough research, I decided that CBD was a natural way to improve my overall health. It also has positive impacts on pain relief, sleep, focus, mood, and skin complexion. I felt that taking supplements would enhance my healthy lifestyle choices; in addition to vitamins and minerals, CBD has been added to my daily supplement use.

It is important to understand the difference between THC and CBD, even though both are found in the cannabis plant. There are benefits and side effects, however, psychoactive elements are removed during the process of extracting CBD.

This raises the question in selecting a product, THC or No THC?

THC or No THC?

THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, in the cannabis plant and is known for its psychoactive properties. A less scientific way to describe THC would be the part of the cannabis plant that gives you the feeling of being “buzzed”.

There are plenty of times when a “buzzed” feeling is appropriate, especially in social settings. Personally speaking, when I/ve consumed products with THC, the results included relaxation and restful sleep. A similar feeling to consuming a few alcoholic beverages.

If this is the result that you are seeking, perhaps using products that contain THC is the right choice for you.

On the other hand, the CBD products that I consume daily have been crafted to contain 0.0% THC. I find my body receives the positive benefits from the cannabis plant without the feeling of intoxication.

CBD is completely different than THC. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid, or phytocannabinoid. These can have the same effect that naturally occurring compounds in the human body can have that are known as endocannabinoids.

After consuming a soft gel or droplet of a tincture, I am capable of performing normal tasks. Working out, driving, conducting meetings, or answering emails, are just a few examples. Individual effects vary, but this is why I choose a non-THC product for daily use. To sum up my decision, “All the benefits without the buzz!”

In closing, before you start using any cannabis product; consult a physician, do some research, and choose a quality source by examining the product's COA(Certificate of Analysis) to ensure that it has been tested for purity, and is free of THC or harmful contaminants.
